Discover a new side of Cybersecurity this November

Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster November Meeting

Right now, cybersecurity is a bigger topic than ever before, with a huge number of major attacks having taken place recently - email hacks, DNS DDoS attacks, and far more. As an ISP, we’ve always been focused on digital security, and in two weeks time, on November the 16th 2016, we’re hosting a great event for any business interested in cybersecurity with the Yorkshire Cyber Security Cluster.

The YCSC is an organisation set up to help build cybersecurity knowledge and expertise for businesses across Yorkshire, and holds regular meetings featuring talks, peer discussion and networking opportunities. We’re proud to be hosting the November meeting for YCSC right here in our Bradford office - read on to find out more about what’s happening, or click through to the EventBrite page to register your place for free!

Plans for the November YCSC meeting

We’re hosting the cluster meeting in our Bradford office at 100 Bolton Road, BD1 4DE - right by the Forster Square train station, our office is easily reached however you’re travelling to the meeting. Along with the great networking and discussion that you’ll see at every YCSC meeting, the November event will see a special presentation from our Security & Compliance Officer, Mark Dearlove, sharing some vital tips and tricks for implementing and passing ISO 27001 certification.

Mark’s in a great position for giving the talk, as we’ve recently had inspectors from Alcumus (a UKAS accredited certification body) in the office to go through our ISO 27001 certification. We’ve provisionally passed the inspection - just waiting for the official certification!

With over a year’s work having gone into implementing the ISMS (Information Security Management System) we use, Mark will be discussing some of the vital points and sharing some particularly useful info to help other businesses succeed in their certification - don’t miss out!

Along with Mark’s presentation, we’ll be hearing from cybersecurity professionals around Yorkshire - Melanie Oldham from Bob’s Business, and Richard De Vere from The Antisocial Engineer.

It’s entirely free to attend the meeting, and we’d really encourage anyone interested in cybersecurity to visit! The event’s taking place between 2PM and 4 on Wednesday the 16th November - just click through to the YCSC EventBrite page for a bit more info and to book your tickets!
