What is a Gigabit city?
On Thursday the 2nd of June 2016, businesses in Bradford can discover exactly what next generation internet connectivity means for their profits. We’re co-hosting the Bradford Gigabit City launch event with our partners CityFibre, giving businesses a look at world-class gigabit internet speeds, and exploring the incredible potential for profit that ultrafast connections offer.
CityFibre has been working to install a network of fibre optic cables across Bradford, transforming the area into a Gigabit City with some of the world’s fastest internet. We’ve partnered with CityFibre to create our future proofed DarkLight internet connections, which give businesses and schools ultrafast symmetrical internet speeds that can easily be upgraded without additional construction.
Bradford is one of the latest Gigabit Cities - CityFibre has previously launched their networks in cities like Peterborough and Coventry, and are also expanding to Leeds. It’s been estimated that Gigabit Cities increase their GDP by 2% and bring in thousands of new jobs. Exa Networks has always been a Bradford business, so we’re incredibly proud to be co-hosting the Gigabit City launch with CityFibre.
